Résumé :

fonctions ylures.

Abstract:

Bis-ylides are divalent carbon species on which a carbon atom bears two ylide functions. Some of them may be used as atomic carbon source, making them particularly interesting for synthetic chemists for such species are scarce. Phosphonio-phosphonio and phosphonio-sulfonio bis-ylides are the models that illustrate best this ability to transfer a carbon atom to a reagent. With this in mind, this thesis ambitions to develop new types of bis-ylides and to study their reactivity.

The 1st chapter is dedicated to the state of the art of “carbon(0)” compounds, with a particular attention to bis-ylides, and their application as atomic carbon source.

No bis-ylide incorporating an iodinated fragment being known to this day, the 2nd chapter is about the study of access routes to phosphonio-iodono bis-ylides. Several have been experimented, using iodanes, and allowed to identify the challenges that lie in the way to access these potentially highly reactive species.

The 3rd chapter is in turn dedicated to the preparation of sulfonio-sulfonio bis-ylides. To this day, a single model, comprising a central carbon atom surrounded by two diphenylsulfide fragments, have been reported by Fujii’s group. The multi-step synthesis being an obstacle to its in-depth study, a new way has been developed, based on the use of a difluorosulfurane as a source of electrophilic sulfur. This new method also uses an α-silylated sulfonium, for which a novel synthesis has been developed.

Finally, the last part of this manuscript describes the generalisation of this methodology for the preparation of several new sulfonio-sulfonio bis-ylides with various diarylsulfide fragments. The influence of the different substituents on the stability and reactivity of the bis-ylide could be studied.
